About

Hi! I am Einar Mostad. This is my home on the web. I use it to share things with the world and gather stuff I want to remember, usually related to technology, (early) music, photography, language etc. I work as an English teacher at a vocational upper secondary school in the south of Norway. In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering with GNU/Linux and Free Software (also called "Open Source Software", FOSS or FLOSS). I also enjoy photography as an expressive outlet. Music has faded into the background in recent years.

My educational background is diverse. I studied electronics in upper secondary school for two years, and then I took a general studies course to be able to study at colleges and universities. I then studied music at Viken Folkehøgskole, Musikkonservatoriet ved Høgskolen i Agder, the Grieg Academy at the University of Bergen, Örebro Musikhögskola, the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen and the Music Conservatory in Esbjerg. There is more info on this in my Music bio. After returning to Norway, I studied English at Østfold College in Halden.

If you search for me online, you will probably find articles about my namesake who used to be the leader of Hell's Angels in Norway. I am not him, and I am not related to him. After he died a few years ago, I am the only living person in the world with my exact name. However, there is someone with my name and an additional middle name that lives somewhere in Vestfold and Telemark.
